Ordinary: Empowered

TEXT: Acts 1:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11

INTRO: God chooses ordinary people, and then He changes us from the inside out through the Holy Spirit. But the work of the Spirit does not stop with what He does in us. Jesus promised His followers power because He was sending them into a mission they could never accomplish in their own strength. The same Spirit who transforms our character also empowers our witness, gives us courage to obey, and equips us with spiritual gifts so that we can minister to others. God never intended for His people to simply believe the right things and live better lives - He intends to work through us. When ordinary people are empowered by Him, God can do extraordinary things through them.
