Shawn Boliner has been part of First Assembly of God in Rock Hill since he was four years old. As he grew up in the church, he developed a heart to serve wherever there was a need. At fifteen, he began helping with the church’s sound ministry, and soon after started serving as a drummer and vocalist on the worship team. Over the years, Shawn has served in many areas of the church, including youth ministry, worship ministry, preaching and teaching, leading the AV ministry, helping develop the church’s online presence, and serving for several years as a member of the church board.
Throughout his life, Shawn’s approach to ministry has been simple: to say yes whenever God opens a door to serve. Rather than pointing to a single calling moment, his journey has been shaped by many small steps of obedience as the Lord created opportunities and prompted him to step forward in faith.
In 2014, Shawn married his wife, Hannah, and together they are raising their two sons. They also carry the memory of a third child that is with the Lord, a reminder that their family - and their hope - rests securely in the Lord. Hannah and the boys remain Shawn’s greatest earthly blessings and a constant source of encouragement in life and ministry.
After many years of serving in various ministries, Shawn entered a new season of leadership when he became the Interim Pastor of First Assembly in 2024. During this time, God deepened his love for the Church and strengthened his calling to shepherd and care for God’s people. Shawn has a deep desire to see believers grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, living lives empowered by the Holy Spirit and faithfully sharing the hope of the Gospel. Above all, he is grateful for the grace of God that has guided each step of his journey and remains committed to seeing Christ glorified, His church strengthened, and His Kingdom advanced.
