II Kings 3:14
When People Are At Stake

TEXT:   II Kings 3:14
INTRO:  When we read our text, we see a pretty harsh response from Elisha to King Joram of Israel.  In this fiery response, notice the compliment directed at Jehoshaphat. Why did Elisha respect Jehoshaphat?  Why was it that this man who now found himself stranded, thirsty, and in terrible straits was described as respected of the prophet who carried a double portion of Elijah, the man who had slain the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel?  This third chapter of II Kings is riddled with neat observations, but today, we’ll focus on what being Godly can mean to the “others” in your life. In this encounter the armies of three kingdoms hung in the balance. As we study this passage, consider who hangs in the balance around you.
